The Assembly elected Vladimir Milanovic a full member of RES Serbia considering that, in the preceding months, he had been performing the function of a replacement member of the Management Board, and thanked Zeljko Djuric for his founding enthusiasm and considerable contribution.
Very successful year 2023 – Education, conferences, presentations
Last year was very successful for the association – a range of conferences, media presentations and events were organized to the end of promoting green energy, as said in the adopted operations report for 2023.
The number of members grew by over 20%, so the association currently has 23 regular and 17 supporting members. In 2023, RES SERBIA became a member of the reputable association SolarPowerEurope and continued its active membership in the leading European wind energy association WindEurope.
Last year, the first auctions for the allocation of market premiums for renewable energy sources were held, showing, as said, the strength of the association – of the four winners of the auctions for wind energy, three are members of RES SERBIA, and the statistics are similar when it comes to solar power as well.
– The maximum auction price that the Government of Serbia set, of EUR 105 per MWh for energy produced from wind, that is, EUR 90 for solar power, is a great success of the association and a result of our two-year struggle to overturn the decision from 2021 (EUR 56 per MWh), dozens of meetings with state officials and hundreds of public appeals in the media, at conferences and other public events – RES Serbia says.

The report for 2023 reminds about the range of events and workshops that the association organized, which was crowned by the RES SERBIA 2023 conference, which gathered the regional and European green elite on September 14 in Vrdnik.
Last year, education in schools and the promotion of gender equality continued, as shown by the very successful conference “(Green) Energy is a Feminine Word”, which marked the official completion of the project “The Path to a Greater Participation of Women in the RES Sector”, which the association had carried out with the support of the Embassy of Canada. The campaign of promoting successful women continued with a series of interviews on the web page of the Green Women’s Network.
The relevance of the association is also shown by the large number of media announcements in the most important local and regional media, the cooperation with the most important organizations in the country and the region, as well as the awards received, such as the “Djordje Stanojevic” plaque, the highest recognition of Elektroprivreda Srbije, RES Serbia says.
Plans for 2024 – New auctions, RES SERBIA 2024 conference
The plan of operations for 2024 was adopted at the Assembly, which says that the association will organize a range of events and, traditionally, the RES SERBIA 2024 conference, which will once again be held in Vrdnik, but this time, due to the great interest, over two days.
It is also reminded that we are looking at new auctions this and next year, so the priority of the association is to further improve the regulations and maintain the trend of high maximum auction prices.
As explained, years of struggle and the public advocating of the selection of the projects which have burdened the work of the operators of electricity transfer and distribution systems have resulted in the Decree on the conditions of the delivery of electrical energy supply, which has introduced stricter criteria and banking guarantees.
– In 2024, the association will be dedicated to monitoring the implementation of the adopted regulations by EMS and ODS and, if needed, initiate talks with the competent institutions, all to the end of improving the position and protection of the interest of the members – RES Serbia says.
