.... Aeroput, the first flag carrier and the predecessor of JAT, was officially set up on June 17th, 1927 ....
Aeroput operated the first domestic flight. The first airplane Potez 29 landed in Belgrade on February 4th, 1928, after it was named Beograd by the wife of Ambassador Spalajkovic in Paris. The first flight to Zagreb was operated on February 15th. Passengers - journalists. The flight was 65 minutes late - the departure was at 9.05 AM, while the arrival was at 11.25 AM.

The first international flight to Vienna, via Zagreb and Graz, was operated on October 7th, 1929. One of the passengers was Ceda Dimitrijevic, a merchant from Zemun. He bought goods abroad and returned home faster than ever. He liked flying and became the first domestic "frequent flyer". A decade later, on 21 May 1939, the company's Managing Board decided to grant him a 50-percent discount on all future flight fares because he had already flown a total of 152 times until then!
