Signing of Agreements on Construction of Four New Roads Announced – Project of Railroad to Novi Pazar Also to Be Revived

In the upcoming period, agreements on the construction of four new traffic routes will be signed – the highway section from Pozega toward Boljare to Montenegro, from Pozega toward Kotroman and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the new Karadjordje highway through Sumadija, as well as the Kraljevo-Novi Pazar fast route, stated the minister of construction, transport and infrastructure of Serbia, Goran Vesic.

– From Pozega, we are continuing to build the highway to Kotroman, Visegrad, in two phases. The first section will be 31 kilometers long to Susica, near the turn toward Zlatibor, which is the busiest road, which sees 14,000 vehicles a day. So, we will connect Uzice and Zlatibor to the highway network – Vesic said for TV Prva.

From Pozega, the construction of the highway to Montenegro is continuing as well, since the agreement on the section to Duga Poljana has already been signed, and the extension toward Boljare will be signed as well, the minister added.

– We will also sign the agreement on the first half of the Karadjordje fast route, through Sumadija, which will contribute to the development of the central part of the country, in terms of both economy and tourism. By 2026, we will finish 78 kilometers from Mali Pozarevac, through Mladenovac, Arandjelovac, Orasac, to Lazarevac. After that, we will build the second part, toward Raca, Topola and Kragujevac. That’s when the ring road around Kragujevac will be completed and it will continue to Mrcajevci, for a length of 36 kilometers – Vesic pointed out.

He said that the fast route would connect Novi Pazar with Kraljevo and that the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, in addition to that traffic route, also asked for the railroad to Novi Pazar to be built within the planned reconstruction of the Stalac-Kraljevo-Rudnica railroad.
