The biggest retail chain in Greece is planning international operations and entrance into several countries, the Retail Serbia portal learns unofficially.

Sklavenitis Group operates with supermarkets and hypermarkets Sklavenitis in Greece and Cyprus, as well as with wholesale centers The Mart (formerly Makro/METRO AG). Xalkiadakis on Crete also operates within the company. The group currently has a share of over 30% in Greece and has recorded all-time high results and a turnover of over EUR 4.4 billion.

The company has commenced the activities for international operations, and unofficial information says that countries in the Balkans could be the first ones that the Sklavenitis brand plans to enter and do business with.
