According to a survey conducted by the London business and investment magazine Euromoney, Banca Intesa is the Bank of the Year 2010 in Serbia, people at that bank announced.

Euromoney's explanation reads that the growing inflation and a series of price increases, which caused a drop in the quality of assets of the banking sector in Serbia, did not prevent Banca Intesa from achieving exceptional results again in 2010.

The criteria on the basis of which that award went to Banca Intesa for the second year in a row are: business results, quality of services, professionalism, and innovation in all segments of operations.

Banca Intesa, member of Intesa Sanpaolo Group, increased its balance sum in 2010 by 16.6 percent, to RSD 359.1 billion (USD 5.31 billion).

That bank turned a profit of RSD 7.62 billion last year, which is 26.8 percent more than one year earlier.

According to Euromoney magazine, the results of Banca Intesa in Serbia in the first quarter of 2011 foreshadow another successful year for that bank.
