Government of Serbia entered the Project of fight against economic criminal worth 1.6 millions EUR

The project of fight aganist economic criminal in Serbia worth 1.6 millions eur, by which the European aganecy for reconstruction and Council of Europe want to help the authorities to increase the capacity for fight against this criminal, was represented on March, 22nd, 2006 in Intercontinental hotel.

The goal of this project is improving the capacity for stopping and fighting against economic criminal, stregthening of institutional and lawful part for the fight against economic criminal (money laundring, financing of terroristic activities, and high technology criminal) and increase of human and ifrastructural capacies of institutions for uncovering and stopping of money laundring and financing of terroristic activities.

The minister of justice, Zoran Stojkovic, on this occasion stressed that the Government of Serbia adopted a law of cyber criminal, but that it is nessecary for the D.A's office and courts to open new departments which would be fighting against high technology criminal.

The representative of the European agency for reconstruction Daniel Juglaris pointed out that the project with the budget of 1.6 millions eur would last for 2 years and that the goal was to create institutional and lawful grounds according to the international standards.
