Belgrade-based Angler starts pellet production in Hrtkovci - EUR 2.2 million factory to employ 30 workers

Belgrade-based Angler will, in association with the Czech partner Pelletia Invest, start the production of pellets, under the name of Yu Pellet, in Hrtkovci in September. Construction of a factory in a location in the vicinity of Ruma is underway. About 2.2 million euros will be invested in that factory, of which annual capacity will be 30,000 tonnes of pellets.

- We are close to finish the construction of a 1,500-square-meter factory that will be producing pellets to be used as fuel. All technology from Europe will arrive in July, assembling works will be carried out in August, and we expect to be able to start the production as early as in September. The factory will employ 30 people - Angler CEO Boris Vasiljev says for eKapija.

Vasiljev stresses that they have already signed an agreement on the annual export of 15,000 tonnes of pellets to Czech Republic and Denmark, as well as that they plan to sell products in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Turkey, and Serbia.

The factory in Hrtkovci will be turning biomass from the fields in Srem into fuel. They also plan to use forest waste and waste from the lumber industry as raw materials.

- We will offer to buy raw materials from agricultural manufacturers. Within next six months, we will build a base of between 100 and 150 associates - says Vasiljev.

He points to the advantages of the use of pellets as fuel over the other raw materials.

- One tonne of pellets substitutes 3.5 cubic meters of firewood. The energy power of two tonnes of pellets equals the power of 1,000 cubic meters of earth gas.
