Tolls will also be charged on expressways

The Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Goran Vesic, announced the news regarding high-speed roads in Serbia.

- There will be a lower toll, but it will be charged. There is a difference. There will be no more tollbooths on expressways, however, the tolls will be charged via cameras which detect license plates, that's something new - said Vesic in BIZcast on B92.net.

When it comes to truck tolls, the minister explained that there will be rules and controls to ensure that they are respected.

- Scales will be installed in the asphalt, which will measure the axle load and if someone is overloaded, the toll will be significantly higher. It will be a way of penalizing them - Vesic explained.
