Belgrade is turning this year into a construction zone. Our capital will be a host of one of the mass sports events, University games, in three years, and building of University villages, and new sports objects and reconstruction of the existing ones will start in Fall.

Sinisa Jasnic, the president of University sport of Serbia and Montenegro says that everything is according the plan. Tender for University villages, which will be in Block 67 in New Belgrade is on call since March, 24th. After this date there will be a session of comission together with the mayor Nenad Bogdanovic and then the decision abotu construction would be made. The works are beginning in Fall, and the end is planned by the end of 2008. In this year it has been planned a reconstruction of objects for waterpolo and judo, and the biggest project in 2006 will construction of a sport hall in Pancevo of 5.000 seats capacity, closed and opened pool and business space, for which it was preaccounted 10 millions eur. It would mean a lot, as it would ease up on the sports capacities in Belgrade. The next year University games are in Bangkok, where Belgrade would take over the flag of a host. Regarding the objects, in 2007, sports center "Banjica" will be reconstructed, "Sumice" and all objects which would be used for the Olimpic festival of youth in Belgrade. On Bezanijska kosa it is planned to build a sports center for students of the Belgrade University, as well as several smaller halls on several locations.

By the end of the next week, the public will be officially familiar with the list of objects, which would be reconstructed. It is for sure that among them there will be Hall of sports in New Belgrade, as well as the Fair, where would be organized sports like carate, table tennis, fencing... If in the meantime appears a foreign investor, and the city accepts its conditions, there will be build several objects more.
