In the next few days, the Government of Serbia will adopt the Decree on subsidizing the construction of new hotels or the expansion of existing ones, announced the minister of finance of Serbia, Sinisa Mali.

While visiting the construction site in Surcin where the preparatory works on the construction of facilities and infrastructure for the specialized exhibition EXPO 2027 have started, he specified that the state would subsidize up to 20% of the value of the investment in 3rd, 4th and 5th category hotels with 3, 4, or 5 stars.

– We want to stimulate the owners of the existing hotels to expand, or to build new hotel capacities. We will need thousands of new beds and rooms in Belgrade and Serbia in order to meet the needs of EXPO – said Mali, as announced by the ministry.

According to him, “a whole new city is to be raised in Surcin.”

– Today, we are at the construction site where the new EXPO, the National Football Stadium and 1,500 new apartments are being built. According to the plan, 247 hectares of land is covered here, and preparatory works are in progress on 130 hectares. These are enormous works, a huge number of machines and people – Mali said at the construction site.
