Railway of Serbia is buying 1.500 of new freight wagons, investment worth around 60 millions EUR

Assistent minister for capital investments, in charge for railway, Dejan Lisica, announced that the company "Railways of Serbia" was soon to buy at least 1.500 of new freight wagons, having in mind that the company has a lack of around 1.000 freight wagons necessary for transport of goods.

The value of wagons that are supposed to be purchased is around 60 millions eur, and the means for this purchase are financied from the credit of European bank for renovation and development. The purchase will be done by tender, and monthly should be delivered between 30-50 wagons mainly of foreign manufacture. The main reason for that, as claimed by Lisica, is that none of the domestic manufacturers has capacity for that amount of manufacture.
