Last year, Serbia exported mushrooms worth around EUR 25 million, the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (CCIS) said for Dnevnik.

The exports vary with each year depending on the weather conditions, as the climate had a direct impact on the mushroom yield. Serbia exports fresh, frozen, dried and canned mushrooms.

According to the CCIS data, dried mushrooms accounted for most of the income, as Serbia got EUR 10 million for 282 tons. They are followed by frozen mushrooms, which were sold for EUR 5.3 million, fresh porcinis earned us EUR 2.8 million, fresh girolles EUR 1.8 million and canned mushrooms EUR 1.6 million. We sold EUR 1.5 million worth of fresh truffles in 2022, and fresh and chilled mushrooms were sold for EUR 1.2 million.

All said types are mostly sold in EU countries, followed by the USA and Russia.

Due to a cold and rainy spring and a dry summer and autumn, this year is not the best for mushrooms, so there will be average or below average quantities depending on the kind.
