Price of Gas to Increase 10% for Heating Plants in Serbia Too

The higher price of gas, which will apply for the economy in Serbia from November 1, will also apply to heating plants, some of which have already signed agreements with suppliers of that energy source for the next season at prices which have increased around 10%.

The director of the PUE Heating Plants Sabac, Rajko Susic, told the Beta news agency that the price of gas had increased 10% on July 1, 2022, and that it had increased by the same amount on January 1 and May 1, 2023, and that it would increase by the same amount on November 1.

– From July 1 last year until November 1 this year, gas is nearly 50% more expensive for our heating plant – Susic said.

He added that, in the same period, electricity was around 35% more expensive for that heating plant.

Susic said that the heating plant had been forced to increase the price of heating from August 1, 2023, by an average of 32.62%.

That means, as he said, that annual heating costs for an apartment of 50 square meters will increase RSD 14,500, that is, around RSD 1,208 a month.

– The income realized from the new price should ensure profitable operations in the coming season. Last year, we received aid from the founder through a subsidy, and this season, we probably won’t need it – Susic said.

He pointed out that heating energy consumers regularly paid their bills and that the heating plant was ready for the beginning of the heating season, which officially begins on October 15.
