Reconstruction of Pozarevac City Core Begins – Here’s What the Popular Cikos Will Look Like (PHOTO)

After the development of Tabacka Carsija, the City of Pozarevac is to start renovating another important part of the city core – the Cikos spatial unit, announced the mayor of Pozarevac, Sasa Pavlovic.

– After the prepared project of the development of this space, we are to start realizing the reconstruction of Basta Cikos. Before the landscaping works begin, the works on the replacement and construction of new infrastructure will be done by the PUE Vodovod i kanalizacija, Elektrodistribucija Srbije and Telekom Srbija – Pavlovic said on his official Facebook profile.

The value of the landscaping works, as he said, according to the new project, is around RSD 45 million with the VAT.

The development of this part of the city entails a new pedestrian connection.

– The bust of Pavle Savic, which is planned to be reconstructed, will have a special area arranged around it so as to emphasize the importance of this great scientist. The street furniture for children is meant to gather around the youngest citizens of Pozarevac as a part of the oasis intended for all generations. A part of the cobblestones on the accompanying parcel will be kept and reconstructed so as to preserve the spirit of this cult place, recognizable to our older fellow citizens. To the bohemian spirit that this place has always had, new benches and lighting will be added, and the citizens will enjoy the natural shade of the old chestnut trees, whereas the outdoor seating areas of the bars and restaurants will be made uniform and built from Siberian larch and oak with pergolas – pointed out Pavlovic.
