Tender for Regulation of Rivers in Novi Pazar Published – Job Worth EUR 25 Million

The World Bank, through the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry and the water management company The Republic Water Directorate, will finance the use of the rivers Trnavica, Josanica and Raska, it has been confirmed in Novi Pazar. The investment worth EUR 25 million will solve, in the long term, the problem of the rivers overflowing and ensure the safety of the citizens of Novi Pazar. The works are to begin this autumn, and on this occasion, the rivers were visited by the mayor of Novi Pazar, Nihat Bisevac, and ministers in the governments, Husein Memic – the minister of tourism and youth and Jelena Tanaskovic – the minister of agriculture.

– The public invitation has been opened, the works will begin at the end of the year and it should be pointed out that the project of the use of the rivers will solve a decades-long issue for Novi Pazar, especially for the residents of the settlements along the Trnavica, Josanica and Raska. The investment is worth EUR 25 million, which, along with the construction of the clinical-hospital center, is the most significant investment of the government so far. The river Trnavica will have its bed regulated on a length of 3,600 meters, up to the dam, the river Raska on 2,600 meters, and the Josanica on 1 kilometer. The project is of invaluable importance for the safety of the citizens who live by the rivers, because this is an area where the water overflows frequently due to the climate – Bisevac said.
