Signing of Memorandum About New Investments of Zijin Mining in Serbia Announced

The minister of mining and energy of Serbia, Dubravka Djedovic, will sign two memorandums of understanding which envisage new investments of the Chinese company Zijin Mining in Serbia tomorrow in the Chinese city of Xiamen.

These are the Memorandum of Understanding about the development of the Lower Zone of the Cukaru Peki copper and gold mine, which envisages an investment of USD 3.8 billion with the implementation of environmental standards, and the Memorandum of Understanding about the development of the solar power plant of 300 MW for the needs of the company, according to the website of the ministry.

These documents will be signed at the Investment Conference “One China One Serbia”, which is held within the 23rd China International Fair for Investment and Trade – CIFIT 2023, where Serbia is a guest of honor.

During the visit to China, Djedovic will visit the mine and the smelter of Zijin Mining Group in Shanghang County.
