In Belgrade at the moment a total of 1.400 of Chinese, the biggest visit comes from Slovenia

The number of foreign citizens who come to Belgrade mostly as tourist, or as businessmen is increasing from year to year, while only in 2005 the capital of Serbia visited 345.650 of foreigners. A large number of them regulates their visas on business accounts, whose system of issuing is not so complicated, in such matter that every foreigner who is registered with a foundation of a company on the territory of Serbia has a right for visa, as pointed out by Petko Boskovic, the chief of Department for foreigners of SUP Belgrade.

On March, 9th, 2006, on the meeting of Slovenian business club, Mr Boskovic said that the legal status of foreign citizens during their stay in Serbia is arranged by the Law of movement and rights of foreigners, which was brought in 1980, but is up today still appliable. "Even tough it is often claimed that most of the foreign citizens in Serbia and Belgrade are Chinese, this is not exactley truth. According to our data, at the moment there is 1400 of chinese citizens in Belgrade. Statistically taken, during 2005 in Belgrade there was mostly slovenian tourists and business people, that is around 41.700, and the same or even better visit is expected in 2006 as well." explained Boskovic and added that the Department for foreigners of SUP Belgrade will continue to give their maximum in helping foreigners if they come to them.
