EU drinks Serbian beer - 40 million liters exported last year

Serbia exported 40 million liters of beer to the European Union last year, Eurostat announced. Our country ranks third in terms of beer exports to the EU, after United Kingdom and Mexico.

When importing from non-EU countries, EU countries favored British beer (290 million liters; 57% of total non-EU beer imports in 2022) and Mexican beer (99 million liters; 19%).

Serbia exported 40 million liters, or 8%, Ukraine 15 million - 3%, and China 11 million - 2%.

When it comes to the main destinations for beer exports to non-EU countries, the main partners are the United Kingdom (860 million liters; 21% of total beer exports outside the EU) and the United States (716 million liters; 18%), followed by China ( 349 million liters; 9%), Russia (271 million liters; 7%) and Canada (155 million liters; 4%).

Imports of beer from countries outside the EU are marginal compared to imports within the EU, Eurostat said in a statement.
