Governor of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) Jorgovanka Tabakovic stated today that, as per the central bank's assessment, the inflation in Serbia will be around 8% by the end of the year.

At the session of the the Serbian Parliament Committee for Finances, the State Budget and Control of the Spending of Public Funds, she said that the year-on-year inflation in June was 13.7% and that in July there was almost no monthly increase in consumer prices.

- We expect that year-on-year inflation will decrease to 12.5% in July and that it will continue to fall in the coming months, provided there are no unforeseen circumstances - said Tabakovic.

According to her, the NBS is successful in conducting monetary policy and a reliable partner of the Government of Serbia in preserving macroeconomic and financial stability.
