The construction of the Bistrica hydroelectric power plant is the project of crucial importance for the southern part of the Zlatibor district, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said today in Priboj.

- Bistrica is a big project for us, we once thought it would cost EUR 700 million, but now we see that it will be 1.2 billion. The minister is going to Japan to negotiate for financing, and when it starts, the work commences. This project is of crucial importance for the entire southern area of the Zlatibor district. It is also of key importance for energy balance - pointed out Vucic.

As part of those construction works, the Bistrica - Uvac road will also be reconstructed the president says he will look into solving that as well.

- The area around Uvac will be a big deal for the monastery as well, the gondola will have an intermediate station there. We need to beg for people who will build and work, the state cannot do everything alone.
