The National Association of Valuers of Serbia (NAVS) has started organizing valuation courses in Serbia, in association with Pricewaterhouse Coopers.
All courses are held by qualified professionals, a majority of the courses are held by RICS accredited members. All class work meet minimum criteria as set by TEGoVA requirements, and is the first step in achieving recognition as a Registered European Valuer (REV). Classes are being attended by over 30 valuers. This is only the first step in the process of continued education that is being conducted by NAVS. In the fall of 2011, class work for plant & equipment valuation is planned.
NAVS is the National Association of Valuers of Serbia. It is a non-government, non-profit organization. It is the most preeminent organization of its kind in Serbia and at a forefront of all changes in this field and compliance with globally accepted valuation principles. NAVS is the reason why the International Valuation Standards are implemented in modern everyday practice in Serbia. Since 2009 NAVS has been a member of International Valuation Standards Committee.
Currently underway are negotiations towards recognition of NAVS, as a member of TEGoVA, to be the governing body for REV certification in Serbia. Ms. Danijela Ilic, president of NAVS, has been in London in May, discussing this very important step that will affect not only the professional valuation, but also the entire real estate and financial market.
