The tin can manufacturer Ball Packaging Europe has put a new EUR 35 million worth of tin can production line in operation in its Zemun-based plant.
Thanks to the new line, the production will be doubled and it will amount to about 1.5 billion tin cans per year. Over the past few months, 40 new employees have been attending trainings in the country and abroad and they are now prepared to work in the specific conditions and with the state-of-the-art technologies used at Ball Packaging, the company announced.
- We are extremely satisfied with the fact that everything concerning this investment is going as planned and that the plant in Zemun is entering a brand new phase of its development - said David Banjai, director of the Belgrade-based BPE plant, and stressed that all products from the new production line would be exported to the countries of the region and the European Union.
He also added that "the investment is a result of the estimates of the expected growth of the market for Ball Packaging products in Southeast Europe".
This will be the second production line in the plant in Zemun, which was opened in 2005 and currently employs about 190 people.
