RGA Introduces New Central Information System for Real Estate Register of Belgrade – “Among the Top Five in the World”

The Republic Geodetic Authority (RGA) has introduced the new Central Information System for the Real Estate Register for the territory of Belgrade.

–After years of preparations and intensive work, thanks to the support of the World Bank and the Government of Serbia, the Serbian land register is now among the top five land register systems in the world – the RGA announced.

They add that, after more than 20 years and two unsuccessful attempts in that period, the old software has been replaced with a new platform which considerably improves the reliability, efficiency, safety, transparency and availability of the process of the listing, transfer and change of ownership over real estate and the management of information about the real estate belonging to the citizens of Serbia.

– The key advantages of the new Central Information System are its speed, accuracy and reliability – the RGA says.

As announced, the new system is integrated with all the other systems of the RGA and the systems of other state organs, with a high degree of the automation of the processes and information flow.

– This enables a more efficient processing and control of the data, which results in a drastically increased work speed. For example, the processes related to the listing, transfer or change of ownership over real estate will be considerably accelerated, which will enable the citizens to more quickly carry out administrative tasks and realize their rights without losing precious time. Also, the data on the ownership and transactions will be processed and controlled more efficiently, reducing the risk of unauthorized manipulations or any errors, which contributes to the maximum legal security of the citizens. Mistakes such as a wrong name or surname, Unique Personal Identification Number, the number of the piece of real estate, the area and all those errors that used to complicate life for the citizens – are practically impossible in the new system – it is said.
