Norma Group receives employment subsidies of EUR 5,000 for each new employee

Deputy Prime Minister for Economy and Regional Development Verica Kalanovic visited the construction site of a new Norma Group factory in Subotica on Thursday. Norma Group is a producer of cooling systems for the automotive industry.

Kalanovic stressed that, thanks to the programme of the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development and the Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA), that company would receive €5,000 per each new job it created and it would hire around 450 new workers.

She observed that the total investment was worth €11,250,000 and that the company's products would be sold in the European market.

For the construction of a new factory of Norma Group, which is the world's leading manufacturer and distributor of car parts for numerous automobile manufacturers such as Volkswagen, Audi, Peugeot, Citroen, the city management has provided a free land.

The contract on the construction of a Norma Group factory in Subotica was signed last September. So far, 85 percent of the construction works have been completed.

Norma Group currently has 12 factories worldwide. When it comes to Eastern Europe, its only production plants are situated in Poland and Czech Republic where it employs 3,400 workers.

This is the fourth German company to invest in Subotica over the last few years, but it is the first to occupy 3 out of 53 ha in the industrial zone in Mali Bajmok.
