At the yesterday's opening of bids submitted by 12 bidders for the construction of tunnels Przojna Padina and Progon on the bypass around Dimitrovgrad, on the eastern branch of Corridor 10, the price of RSD 3.83 billion offered by the company Terna S.A from Greece was the lowest of all, the company Koridori Srbije announced.
According to the announcement, all offers will be examined and the contractor will be selected within next 30 days so that the works could commence in June. The construction of tunnels 1.7 kilometers long is to be finished in 24 months, and all the works will be financed from a loan granted by the World Bank.
The implementation of that project is expected to raise the level of services, make international trade and transport of passengers easier, and generally accelerate transit transport, Koridori Srbije announced.
Construction of the highway on the bypass around Dimitrovgrad started with the construction of roads and bridges in April 2010.
