Big Step for New Brand of International Offices of the City of Vienna – Formerly Eurocomm-PR

At the Belgrade gallery N.EON, on Friday night, a reception event of the Vienna Office in Belgrade, until recently known as Eurocomm-PR, was held. At the gathering, which is traditionally held once a year, numerous representatives of city institutions of Belgrade, the Austrian embassy, the media and education institutions of Belgrade gathered for the purpose of getting information and the connecting of Vienna and Belgrade. The head of the office, Milos Bogunovic, notified the attendees that, on April 1, 2023, the office had been officially renamed as the International Office of the City of Vienna.

Since 1996, the Vienna City offices are in charge of positioning the capital of Austria abroad. The network of Vienna representations became part of the Wien Holding in 2016, and recently, the Eurocomm-PR brand, which has until now denoted European communications, got a new name – the International Offices of the City of Vienna. The representations in Belgrade, Berlin, Budapest, Krakow, Ljubljana, Prague, Sarajevo, Sofia and Zagreb are in charge of promoting Vienna and they aim to incite dialogue between the partner cities with the capital of Austria and to create the possibilities for investments when it comes to “Government2Government” projects. Bratislava is also in the network of partner cities, but due to the proximity, the cooperation is done from the central in Vienna.

Globalization and new communication technologies are a great challenge for the urban regions of Europe, but they are also opportunities. Cities are increasingly close to each other, which has its advantages: learning, exchange of ideas and the implementation of joint projects. When it comes to the networking of cities in the heart of Europe, as a geographic and historic center, Vienna plays a leading role, which is at the same time an acknowledgment and a mission. Due to that, it is the role of the offices to also include the neighboring cities in the joint solving of the issues that concern urban regions.

The new name “International Offices of the City of Vienna” highlights the direct connecting of the foreign offices with the capital of Austria. In order to emphasize the international aspect, the title of the new web page is in English, and the content is available in 11 languages.
