Commercial Attaché of
the Embassy of the United States of America in Serbia, Mr Bradley Harker, has
met today with representatives of the largest foreign and local companies in
Serbia, members of American Chamber of Commerce (AmCHam), and presented
President Obama’s National Export Initiative and how he sees cooperation with
Serbia in achieving proclaimed objectives.
“President Obama’s National Export Initiative (NEI) is a proactive approach taken by the President to double exports from the United States to overseas markets over the next five years,” explained Mr Harker, adding that it is planned to actively include Serbia in this strategy.
“Here in Serbia, this initiative translates to an increasing number of U.S. firms looking to find reputable and qualified Serbian partners to assist them to sell their products in Serbia. This will benefit Serbian firms with new products and technologies that they can in turn sell to their customer base in Serbia and the region,” said Mr Harker, adding that there is particular opportunity for expanded collaboration between U.S. and Serbian firms in Serbia’s IT, Medical, Manufacturing, Energy, Agriculture and Franchising sectors.
“AmCham
views the Obama’s National Investment Initiative as a great opportunity to
strengthen further economic and commercial ties between Serbia and United
States“, said Vladan Zivanovic, President of the American Chamber of Commerce in
Serbia.
He underlined that AmCham, through active participation of its members, uses its leverage to promote Serbia as an investment destination among potential investors and support Government efforts to attract foreign investment as well as to improve environment for doing business in Serbia.
