Air Serbia Flying to Chicago Again After More Than 30 Years

With today’s JU506 flight at 6.50 AM from the Nikola Tesla Airport, after more than 30 years, Air Serbia re-established air traffic between Belgrade and Chicago.

Direct flights will be realized twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, whereas, from June 12, a third weekly departure, each Monday, will be available to passengers as well. The flights will be operated by Airbus A330-200 aircraft from the wide-body fleet of the Serbian national airline, the press release says.

– The importance of that line, among other things, is shown by the fact that a large number of flights in the coming weeks and months has already been well filled out – said George Petkovic, Air Serbia's Vice President America.

The ceremony of sending off the inaugural flight of Air Serbia to Chicago was attended by the president of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, the minister of finance, Sinisa Mali, the minister of construction, transport and infrastructure, Goran Vesic, the mayor of Belgrade, Aleksandar Sapic, the US ambassador to Serbia, Christopher Hill, as well as representatives of the Serbian national airline, the aviation industry and the media.
