Belgrade - Pozega Highway by 2010

The preparation works for beginning of construction of Belgrade-Pozega highway are close toend, around half of the needed documentation is finished, and on the tender for selection of concessioners around 15 of world famous companies has applied, out of which 4 have entered the final selection, as said on the assembley in Cacak, organized as the closing public discussion about spacial plan of infrastructural corridor.

On the assembley, on which were present representatives of around 10 counties through whose territory the highway will be passing, it was said that the works could start at the end of this year, and that the highway would be finished in 2010.

According to the words of deputy Minister for capital investments, Miodrag Ralevic, after the so far discussed issues in the counties, almost all propositions for smaller correction of the rout for which was given argumented explaination, were accepted.

It was special considered, according to his words, that the natural values were protected and that practical interests of the local population were met.

The future highway, which is only a section of the magistral rout from Belgrade to the sea-side, will be of 147 km of longitude, and it is supposed to cost around 800 millions of euros
