Mardok in race for national frequenci

A subdivision of the American international company News Corporation, headed by media expert Rupert Mardok, announced that it will participate in selection for the national frequenci in Serbia.
In the announcement of the executive wise-president of the company, Martin Pompadour, it is stated that "The Government of Serbia is conducting a faire and opened selection which promises publicity and transparancy, and that the global and regional television experience of the News Corporation will bring to the Serbian market competition and credibility." Pompadour points out that in the program scheme of this company besides informational program there is also entertainment, like the newest movies, tv shows and comedies. Within the company there is also a movie industry and Pompadour expresses his experience that the company will have an important role in the development of production houses in Serbia, because the largest part of the program which will be broadcasted will be produced here.
The headquarters of the corporation is in New York, and the balance amount of the company, that works on all continents, on September, 30th, was 55 billions dollars (annual profit is 24 billions). Within the News Corporation, are also SKY, The Times, FOX.
Wise President of the Council of radio-difusional agency, Aleksandar Vasic, declaired that he can not confirm weather there is any other company applied to the selection. Vasic points out that the Agency stated, before announcing the selection, that 5 foreign companies was interested, but the practice is that untill the end of the selection they don't give out any names. According to his words, 7 days after deadline for application, it will be announced who has applied. Vasic stresses out that the foreign companies can buy any domestic television or found a completely new one, but, according to the law, they can not be majority owner.
Vasic adds that RRA will protect domestic radio difusion while giving out frequencis. "If five foreign companies applies, it doesn't mean that all of them will get national frequence. Besides, B92 has 48% of foreign capital", explained Vasic.
The deadline for applications to the selection of Radio-difusional agency of Serbia is by March, 25th.
