The Customs Administration will this year start the application of a simplified import procedure in the premises of the recipient and a simplified export procedure in the premises of the sender, Customs Administration Assistant Director Zoran Ruzic announced for eKapija.
- These procedures will make it possible for business subjects to place goods under a certain customs procedure on the basis of an accounting document, while the declarant will be exempted from the obligation to deliver goods. That will not only accelerate the customs procedure but also reduce the costs incurred by companies and make our goods much more competitive in the foreign market and Serbia more attractive to foreign investors. Such operations will contribute to a significantly faster flow of goods, leading to a more dynamic development of the economy as a whole - people at the Customs Administration explained for eKapija.
The procedure will be completely automated. In that way, operations will be made significantly easier for both business subjects and the Customs Administration, as well as more efficient and in accordance with the trend of modernization of customs operations, which is already present in the European Union.
The Customs Administration will also start the implementation of the project New Computerized Transit System (NCTS) in Serbia, which should be applied as of 2015.
