Bills of 5.000 dinars with NBY sign, from today, out of circulation

From today, bills of 5.000 dinars, which were put in circulation by the National bank of Yugoslavia, are stopped as means of payment and only placement of this bill issued by the National bank of Serbia will stay in circulation. Nontheless, all citizens who did not made the exchange till the 28th of November, when the withdrawal of the old ones started, will be able to do that without limitations in the banks and offices of the National bank of Serbia, till the June, 30th of this year. From July, 1st all till the end of 2012, this bill will ba able to be excahnged only in Direction of the business vault of NBS.
The decision of withdrawal from the circulation of the 5.000 dinars bill, issued by the National bank of Yugoslavia, is in accordance of the step-by-step, but definite withdrawal from circulation of all bills on which there is the sign of the National Bank of Yugoslavia and which were printed without adecuate protection. The business banks are in obligation to no later than July, 15th, give in to the offices of NBS all gathered old bills, and those to the Direction for vault of NBS no later than the end of July.
