This year’s 18th edition of the Belgrade International Architecture Week – BINA 2023 will be held from May 11 through June 16, organized by the Association of Belgrade Architects and the Cultural Center of Belgrade.

The program “BINA Before BINA” starts on May 6 at the Fine Arts Gallery under the title WOMEN IN ARCHITECTURE and it will be realized in cooperation with the Board for Architecture of the City of Vienna and the ZAD Association.

On May 11, the event will open at the Fine Arts Gallery of the Cultural Center of Belgrade by the exhibit “Distance That Connects”, dedicated to the work of the architect Bratislav Toskovic, who will share his achievements, for which he received the Grand Architecture Award for Life Achievement for 2021 from the Union of Architects of Serbia, with the audience.

Another five exhibits will open within the exhibition program: “To Dwell/Best – South Tyrol/Belgrade” in the Gallery of the Faculty of Fine Arts, “Architecture in Spain in the 21st Century: The Flourishing of Architecture through the Eyes of Ricardo Santonja” at the Cervantes Institute, “Architecture. Sculpture. Remembrance – The Art of the Monuments of Yugoslavia 1941-1945” (Bostjan Bugarcic/Maja Ivancic/Spela Kuhar, Jelica Jovanovic-Docomomo Serbia” in Kneza Mihaila Street, “Bring Your Own Project” – Space Love Studio, “Piranesi Award”.

The cooperation of BINA and the international platform @lina.community will be presented through the programs “Urban Mythologies”, inspired by Athens, the documentary film “Public Housing: Belgrade Mode” by Rebeka Bratoz Gornik.

A special segment of the program consists of GOOD URBAN LIFE 3, which is taking place in Kragujevac this year in cooperation with the Faculty of Philology and Arts FILUM in Kragujevac and the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade.

Within the lecture program, the following programs will also be held: “Revitalization of Modernist Settlements, the Case of Cerak”, the Seminar on the Business Facility Campus NCR in Block 42 in New Belgrade, Architects/Designers/Pratitioners, a lecture of the young architects studio Space Love Studio by Bratislav Toskovic and a lecture by Docomomo Serbia on the occasion of the exhibit “Architecture. Sculpture. Remembrance.”.

As each year, a considerable part of the program are BINA walks. The plan includes following the trail of the architecture of Aleksej Brkic and Mihailo Mitrovic, a visit to the French Embassy, the Monument of Gratitude to France and the Institute for Protection of Cultural Monuments, as well as traditional walks through the Jewish Cemetery. This year, following Novi Sad, Zrenjanin, Pancevo, Kragujevac and Sabac, BINA is taking fans of architecture on a field trip to Valjevo.
