Gazprom Neft pays minority shareholders of NIS

Russian company Gazprom Neft paid EUR 40.3 million to the accounts of minority shareholders of the Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS) yesterday afternoon for the acquisition of 5.15% of shares of that company.

People at the national postal company PTT Srbija told Beta news agency that the Russian energy giant had paid that money at 3.30 PM.

In that way, Gazprom Neft took over 8.4 million shares of NIS at the price of EUR 4.8 per piece and, thus, increased its stake in the Serbian oil company from 51% to 56.15%.

About 4.8m citizens of Serbia received five NIS shares each, that is, total of 15% of the company's shares with the nominal value of RSD 500 per share. Former and current employees of NIS received the total of 4.1% of shares.
