Agrokor submits bid for 23.34% stake in Mercator?

Slovenian web portal Finance.si has published an information that the Croatian concern Agrokor has submitted a bid for the acquisition of a 23.34% stake in Mercator from Pivovarna Lasko. People at Agrokor did not want to confirm that information.

Finance also writes that the bid submitted by the concern owned by Ivica Todoric includes the price it is ready to pay for the stake in Mercator and plans for the relation with suppliers and workers. However, the amount of the offered price has not been revealed yet, while the estimates are that the price per share ranges between 195 and 230 euros.

Citing an unofficial source, Finance stresses that a bid for Pivovarna Lasko's stake has also been submitted by the British investment fund Mid Europe, which offered the price of EUR 170 per share of Mercator last year. Let us remind that people at Agrokor underlined in a letter to the Slovenian regulatory body that they were interested only in Pivovarna Lasko's 23.34% stake in Mercator. On that occasion, Mr. Todoric pointed out that he was still examining the model of acquisition and that he had no plans yet to announce a public offer for the acquisition of remaining shares. The deadline for the submission of bids to Lasko expired yesterday at 3 PM.
