Yesterday, after nearly one year, production of pesticides, additives and premises for fodder was put into operation in Chemical Industry Župa. In ten days, filling of bottles and containers with chlorine will start. Temporary manager in Župa, Miroljub Milojević, who is on that position since November 28, 2005, announced that the efforts were invested in the consolidation of the company, but the rehabilitation would last for few months.
The debt towards foreign partners and domestic suppliers exceeds 10 million EUR. On the other hand, Župa claims about 365 million CSD for unpaid realization of big quantity of pesticides that "left" the factory and went to the phantom companies. The account of the company is still blocked due to overdraft of 164 million CSD. The situation with the debts to the workers is not better, either. The workers did not obtain salaries for the last 17 months. Due to unsettled obligations, both phone and gas connections were cut, whereas all vehicles in the motor pool needed urgent registration.
Let us remind that the production in Chemical Industry Župa was stopped because of the strike at the beginning of March 2005. On that occasion, the employees demanded payment of six late salaries. At the beginning of summer, the Privatization Agency broke the contract on sale of majority capital with the buyer company Vektra M (whose owner is Violeta Josifova) due to unsettled obligations from the contract. The decision was confirmed by the TRade Court in Belgrade at the end of the last year.
