The French "builds" Majdanpek

French company "Societe comerciale des Metaks et Minera" (SCMM), from Paris, will, most probably, be the new owner of Majdanpek-based Metal-Processing Industry (IPM), a part of Mining-Smeltery Basin (RTB) Bor. By the way, SCMM was the only company that applied for tender for procurement of IPM, which was announced by the Republic Privatization Agency at the end of the last year.

According to the information we obtained, the negotiations between the authorized representatives of SCMM and Privatization Agency about sale of IPM, which employs 1,100 workers and includes "Zlatara Majdanpek", "Megaplast" and "Fabrika elektroproizvoda", entered the final phase. The signing of the sales contract, as dr Milan Dvojaković, the authorized representative of French company, announced, should be expected at the beginning of the next month.

SCMM adapted the tender documentation and offered its terms, which are acceptable for the Privatization Agency. The company from France is ready to provide investments worth at least 3 million EUR, quality social program, as well as to open commercial bureaus of IPM in Italy and France.

Dr Dvojaković points out that SCMM has already signed contracts on works for the partners from west Europe and Japan, as well as that French company is interested in starting new production programs in IPM in addition to the existing ones.
