Jubilee 30th Kopaonik Business Forum Finished

The jubilee 30th Kopaonik Business Forum gathered over 1,600 participants, 200 panelists, and 34 panels, three sessions and four special events were organized. According to the estimate of Aleksandar Vlahovic, the president of the Serbian Association of Economists, the forum exceeded the expectations, and the conclusions from the most important conference event in the country and the region became apparent on the very first day.

– First, we live in a period of pronounced economic and geopolitical risks. This year, a slowing down of the growth of the global economy is expected, especially in the eurozone. However, what’s good and what the experts of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank estimated is that the persistence of the economic zone is far higher than they expected, and that is good news for us. As for Serbia, we are entering with solid, good, satisfactory macroeconomic parameters.

In this year, we see that, in the first two months, that continued, the stability continued, but on the other hand, that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t continue strongly implementing economic reforms. They primarily pertain to further, more concrete restructuring and reformation of big public companies, to further investments and development of the business environment, so as to incite local private investments that way, because it has been estimated that local private investments are lower and lower with each year, and they are dropping in terms of both the share and the investments – Vlahovic emphasized at the end of this year’s Kopaonik Business Forum, the press release says.

What has been additionally estimated, Vlahovic points out, is that, if the inflation in the eurozone lowered, it would be realistic to expect Serbia to halve the inflation by the end of the year and for it to return within the target corridors by the end of next year.

A large number of initiatives was launched in the four days of the Kopaonik Business Forum.

– We must mention the Biotech 4 initiative, as well as the initiatives which pertained to Generation Z and their entering the world of business. We had plenty of sector-based discussions about agriculture, energy, energy security, we talked about digital connecting and the connecting agenda in general. There was also talk about many other interesting topics which we will traditionally put into our document, titled Kopaonik Consensus – Vlahovic said.
