Air Serbia and Air China Expand Cooperation

The national airline carriers of Serbia and China, Air Serbia and Air China, have renewed the cooperation started in 2015, to the end of enabling simpler travels between the two countries, Air Serbia announced.

The codeshare cooperation of the two companies on the flights between Belgrade and Beijing has been renewed by Air China’s putting its marketing code on the flights of Air Serbia between Belgrade and Vienna, whereas the Serbian company has put its code on the flights of the Chinese company between Vienna and Beijing. Furthermore, the cooperation has been expanded by adding the marketing code of Air China to Air Serbia’s flights between Belgrade and Tianjin, which were established in December last year, the press release says.

When it comes to other cities in China, passengers will now be able to combine Air Serbia’s flights to Tianjin and Air China’s flights from Tianjin to Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Xi’an, thanks to the interline agreement between the two national airline carriers.

– By launching direct flights to Tianjin, Air Serbia has gone back to China after more than two decades. We have now further upgraded our presence in that market, by renewing and expanding the commercial cooperation with Air China – said Ivana Miklja Mucalov, Air Serbia Manager, International Affairs & Alliances.

Since December 9, 2022, the Serbian national airline carrier has been flying to Tianjin, the fourth biggest city in China. The flights between Belgrade and Tianjin are operated by Airbus A330 aircraft from the long-line fleet of Air Serbia. The average flight times are 10 hours from Belgrade to Tianjin and 12 hours from Tianjin to Belgrade.
