Vesic: Urban Planning Chaos on Kopaonik and Zlatibor, We Will Start Instilling Order

The minister of construction of Serbia, Goran Vesic, has announced that green construction will be incited by the amendments to the Law on Planning and Construction, which will accelerate the procedures by having those who get public authorization, such as design studios, notaries and lawyers, issuing location information and usage permits as well.

– The investors will be able to obtain authorization, which will be electronic, by themselves, and all public buildings, as well as facilities over 10,000 square meters, will be built with green building certificates – Vesic said for the Blic daily.

As he specified, the local self-governments will be tasked with which territory to cover with plans, and if they don’t do so, the state will do it for them.

– For those who build with a green building certificate, contributions will be reduced as well, and there will be an obligation for each building to have a certain number of parking spaces with electric charging – the minister said.

Vesic agreed that an urban planning chaos was in place on Kopaonik and Zlatibor at that moment.

– That is why the amendments to the Law on Planning and Construction will say that, within the borders of a protected natural good, only spatial plans of special-purpose areas can be done, which are adopted by the Government of Serbia and proposed by the ministry. These are the solutions which will begin instilling order – Vesic said.
