eKapija web portal will again this year present Aurea awards to the best investors in 2010 in late March. As the new cycle is nearing, we have visited the companies whose projects were shortlisted for last year`s awards to see how far they have gone with the development of their businesses.

In 2011, the company Alltech Serbia AD in Senta plans to increase exports by 70 percent and finish the implementation of significant investments from 2010, as well as to officially start production of "green" electric energy at its new plant, Director of the company Tibor Ujvari says for eKapija.

Since they invested EUR 23 million in previous two years, they do not plan to make any new investments this year.

Due to a significantly big investment cycle, Alltech Serbia AD ended last year with a negative business revenue. However, as Ujvari points out, the loss was smaller than expected. The plan for this year includes only minor investments in cooling and storage capacities.

- Projected yeast production of 18,700 tons was significantly exceeded - Ujvari stresses and adds that "the plan is that last year's production of nearly 20,000 tons be increased by additional 10 percent in 2011".

- Alltech Serbia AD last year insisted on enhancement of the quality of its products. As a result, our yeast meets even the strictest standards, which is why we have big export ambitions. Only in 2011, our exports grew by 38 percent - says Ujvari.

The most significant export markets of this Senta-based company are Ireland and the USA where Alltech exports 30 to 35 percent of the production, as well as Japan, owing to the export of yeast extract. Alltech Serbia AD signed a ten-year export agreement with Japanese Yeastock Ltd. in 2009. A total of 650 tons of yeast were exported to France, while exports to Germany and Belarus are currently in an experimental phase. Other significant markets are Hungary, Romania and Poland.
