The story of the company BUCK Lighting begins back in 1992 with the enthusiastic need of its founder, Darko Budec, to do something different after graduating from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. The Buck team gathered with a concrete vision of creating original and innovative lighting in the spirit of the market demands that would have a positive impact on people and the environment. Over the 30 years of existence, the initial idea has evolved and BUCK is now a local, Serbian brand which operates in the international market shoulder to shoulder with the biggest names of the lighting industry.

Since its founding, the company has been focusing on the production of high-quality lights. As a result, quality was the priority in their business. A multitude of ideas, young and ambitious people, all this has resulted in the creation of a recognizable and original design for which some of the most prestigious awards were handed out, such as Red Dot, If, Good Design, Iconic, German Design…

Research and development has always been the segment of our business which a lot of importance is given to, so we see our BUCK LAB as the company’s creative core. Our engineers at the lab develop, test and upgrade our products every day.

The BUCK team does not sell lights, but offers lighting solutions. In designing the lights, the starting point is the client’s needs. In addition to that, our holistic approach entails sustainable design, implementation of the latest technology in the domain of optics and a long life cycle of our lights.

Our production opus encompasses clean room, medical, tunnel, industrial, sports, street and architectural lighting. Continuous work on developing new products and upgrading the existing ones and on exploring the needs of the market and communicating with all the participants in the market is something that sets us apart.

It is precisely from the ability to listen to the needs of the market that a whole new branch of tunnel lighting has developed, which we established relatively recently and which we got completely used to in a very short time. Tunnels are a specific infrastructure segment, extremely demanding and challenging and demanding for us all and one of those in which lighting plays the main role is ensuring security. Our partnership with the company ASFINAG has resulted in tens of projects of tunnel lighting in the territory of Austria and Germany which BUCK has lit with its products.

Over two decades of the experience of BUCK Lighting in lighting clean rooms has led to the forming of an all-encompassing program for clean room lighting. In addition to being certified by the Fraunhofer IPA institute and applicable in clean rooms of the ISO classes 1-9, our Clean Room lights also have GMP certificates, that is, proofs of the implementation of a good production practice. Although the concept of clean rooms is primarily associated with laboratories, medical institutions and the pharmaceutical industry, it is of crucial importance in the microchip industry and in food production processes. Among the numerous satisfied clients who have chosen our Clean Room lighting products are Hemofarm, KCS, Photon Optronix, Continental and many others.

The lighting industry has been developing very dynamically in the past years. The driving engine of the industry are trends related to technological development, including LED technology and intelligent lighting management systems. When we analyze the most important trends in lighting, we see an orientation toward the IoT (Internet of Things), HCL (human-centric lighting) and smart lighting systems. These are precisely the directions in which BUCK has invested the majority of its potentials.

The everyday tendency toward progress and the implementation of new technologies in our range of products has connected us with the world-famous company Molex. Following the technical development in the world market, we have developed a special kind of lights in the PoE technology (Power over Ethernet), thereby becoming one of only three companies in Europe to configure their products for operations in the PoE system. BUCK’s wide range of products has been designed so as to represent the best choice of smart systems which entail full lighting control and HCL technology.

As we work tirelessly on improving our products, the cooperation with the development center Bartenbach is something that has additionally contributed to the prestige of our lights on the global level. We have complemented the product families with standard optics with those from Bartenbach. That way, we have innovated, expanded their field of use and provided some new characteristics visually. The S system is an example of an upgraded systemic product which, with a single product family, can solve the lighting of complete interiors, office spaces and smart buildings. This is a holistic solution which shows how various needs for lighting in a space can be achieved through a systemic approach. ARIA SMART HCL is a product that is fully designed in line with the HCL concept and is ideal for all types of office spaces with insufficient daylight.


Following the new trends and the ecological need for sustainable production, BUCK is dedicated to the implementation of green economy standards by extending the life cycle of products, reducing the use of hazardous matters, recycling and being oriented toward circular economy. The implementation of this model in the lighting industry entails the production of carefully designed lights with an extended life cycle, without consuming unnecessary resources.
