New border crossing between SCG and BiH

In Karakaj, near Zvornik, the new border crossing between BiH and Serbia has been opened. European Union invested €3.4m in its construction and equipping. Opening the crossing, the Head of the delegation of European Commission to BiH, Michael Hamphreys, said that EU backed construction of border crossing in BiH in order to prevent illegal crossing of passengers and goods across the border.
The surface of border crossing Karakaj, across which the turnover of goods and transportation of passengers will be realized, amounts to 10,000 square meters. The crossing has eight entrance-exit lanes, the same number of control booths, two eaves, facilities for customs service and border police, a hall for thorough inspection of trucks and buses and other related facilities.
