Highway from Novi Sad to Horgos to be built until May 2011

Highway from Novi Sad to Horgos, on the northern branch of Corridor 10 through Serbia, will be built until May 2011, Director General of Uzice-based Putevi Milan Bojovic announced. Mr. Bojovic said that about 40 km of road on that route had been paved to date.
- In these winter months and conditions, when the weather does not allow work in the field, the transport of materials from quarries to the country's provinces is intensive - said Bojovic.
The Director General of Putevi Uzice, which is now the leader of the domestic consortium for construction of the northern branch of Corridor 10, about 110 km long, said that contractors had made an agreement with the competent ministry to finish the section from Novi Sad to Horgos, about 90 km long, prior to May, after which the so-called "ypsylon branch", that is, Subotica-Kelebija highway section, would be finished.
Mr. Bojovic said that Putevi had taken the role of the leader of the domestic consortium in the field from PZP Beograd.
- We have sat and talked, seeking the best variant for painless completion of the corridor, and we have come to the solution - Putevi is now the leader of the consortium, while PZP Beograd will be our subcontractor, just like many other domestic companies that work on that part of the corridor - he said.
