All the preconditions for the excellent political relations of Serbia and Egypt to be reflected in the field of successful economic cooperation are there, said the minister of internal and foreign trade of Serbia, Tomislav Momirovic, during his meeting with the ambassador of Egypt, Bassel Salah.

Momirovic said that the annual goods exchange at that moment was USD 100 million, and that the goal was for it to increase to USD 400 million in the next two years, it is said on the website of the Government of Serbia.

He estimated that the basic precondition for that was the signing of the bilateral agreement on free trade with Egypt and added that it would be one of the priorities of the ministry in the coming period.

– Our aim is to give an additional impulse, primarily to our producers of agricultural products, which have great possibilities in the Egyptian market, but are not attractive due to the current existence of customs barriers – the minister said.
