EIB lends EUR 500 million to Fiat Automobili Srbija

The European Investment Bank will this year sign the first agreement on a loan of 500 million euros for the company Fiat in Serbia, Head of the EIB regional office for the western Balkans in Belgrade Andreas Beikos announced today.

Last year, representatives of the EIB announced a possibility of approval of a loan for modernization and expansion of production capacities at Fiat Automobili Srbija in Kragujevac.

- Your government has a good vision, which encourages us to do that - Beikos said at the meeting Let's Build Together-Management of Infrastructure Projects in Local Self-governments, which was held at Hyatt hotel in Belgrade.

Fiat Automobili Srbija today announced that a total amount of Fiat's investment in Serbia would be EUR 940 million.

As it was announced, the jubilee 30,000th Punto Classic was assembled at the plant in Kragujevac in October, only 18 months after the commencement of production, while renovation and modernization of that Fiat's plant is underway.
