Digital Climate Atlas of Serbia Presented – Serbia Increases Its Climate Ambition

The Ministry of Environmental Protection, ahead of the global climate summit of the United Nations – COP27 in Egypt, held the Dialogue on Climate Change, within which the online platform the Digital Climate Atlas of Serbia was presented to the public.

According to the press release, the platform provides insight into the current and future climate changes, based on meteorological and geospatial data, both for the territory of the whole Serbia and for concrete locations.

The data are publicly available, and they enable a better estimate of the vulnerability and the planning of the measures of adaptation to climate change. The Digital Climate Atlas of Serbia can be accessed at the link: https://atlas-klime.eko.gov.rs/

The minister of environmental protection, Irena Vujovic, reminded that Serbia had increased its climate ambitions trifold within the recently adopted revised Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC).

– We plan to reduce greenhouse has emissions by 2030 by 33.3% compared to the emissions in 1990, in all relevant sectors – Vujovic said, according to the press release.
