Kruna-komerc makes counter-bid for Belgrade Bus Station

Belgrade-based Kruna-komerc made a counter-bid today for purchase of shares of the Belgrade Bus Station (BAS).

Kruna-komerc, the owner of 0.56% of BAS, launched a bid for 99.43% of BAS and offered the price of RSD 1,000 per share. The offer of Kruna-komerc was opened today and it is going to stay open until February 7. According to a shortened text of the bid, published in the daily paper Politika, the bid is conditional, that is, Kruna-komerc, the company engaged in internal and external trade, wants to acquire minimum 34% of BAS.

At the end of the last year, the hotel company Damjan from Banja Luka launched a bid for takeover of 40.31% of shares of BAS at the price of RSD 760 per share.

State Secretary for the Economy and Privatization of Serbia Nebojsa Ciric stated yesterday that the Government of Serbia would not accept Damjan's offer for purchase of BAS' shares.

Ciric also said that the City of Belgrade was interested in taking over a 40% stake in BAS, owned by the state, as well as shares of minor shareholders, in order to become the majority owner of the bus station.

Last week Nezavisnost trade union of BAS warned minor shareholders, the owners of 60% of the company, not to accept Damjan's offer because the offered price was low.

The value of market capitalization of BAS currently amounts to 248.9 million dinars.
