The minister of trade, tourism and telecommunications of Serbia, Tatjana Matic, talked yesterday with the president of the company KIA Europe GmbH, Won-Jeong Jeong, about the business conditions in Serbia and the promotion of the exhibition “Busan Expo 2030”.

Matic pointed out that Serbia had enough economic capacities and potentials, highlighting the large number of signed free agreements.

At the meeting, which was also attended by the ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Jaewoong Lee, it was emphasized that Serbia had a very favorable business and investment climate and the regional initiative “Open Balkans” was highlighted as another advantage.

The Korean delegation proposed for Serbia to support it in organizing the Busan Expo 2030.

Busan aims to host World Expo 2030, with the topic of “Transforming Our World, Navigation to a Better Future”, which would deal with three global challenges: “A Sustainable Life with Nature”, “Technology for Humankind” and “The Platform for Caring and Sharing”.

The Republic of Korea is the third biggest economic partner of Serbia in the Asia-Pacific region. In 2019, through a range of cultural activities in Belgrade and Seoul, the two countries marked the 30th anniversary of their diplomatic relations, as said on the website of the Government of Serbia.
