Zastava Oruzje in US Market – Exports Worth USD 225 Million, for Collectors and Gold-Plated Versions

The primary task of Zastava Oruzje is to supply the Serbian army with infantry arms, whereas the remaining production is entirely exported to five continents. Perhaps the biggest contract on the export of sports and hunting arms to America in the entire arms industry, worth USD 225 million, they say at the factory, is successfully realized.

– This practically means the securing of Zastava Oruzje, because full production capacity employment, job security for 2,500 employees and regular salaries are ensured for the next five years. Also, regarding our purchasers, they pay for their products in advance and at very high prices – says Mladen Petkovic, the director of Zastava Oruzje, which has established a strategic partnership with Zastava Arms USA.

Fans of sports and hunting arms in America most appreciate the semi-automatic rifle based on AK-47 and hunting Mauser rifles, which have been produced since the end of the 19th century at the oldest and most important factory of that kind in Southeast Europe. Last year, 250 tons of civilian arms was imported, and this year they expect to break that record.

– Our goal is not just to sell, but also to build the whole Zastava brand and, as part of that, we have also offered engraved hunting hand arms for fans of Zastava and collectors. We have even offered gold-plated versions – points out Ranko Ristic, the director of the company Zastava Arms USA.
